Autumn in Holland - one of my favorite themes. Themes to talk, to write
stories, to make photos. Some of them are below. Autumn is really nice
time in The Hague, Scheveningen, Delft, Amsterdam, Rotterdam. I really
like being outside during days in September and October, especially
walking through my favorite parks in The Hague or Delft, along the
channels in Amsterdam and other cities...

Buongiorno, Dear Reader!
On October, 16, 2002 I was celebrating my 25 years. The Birthday and the next days I had spend in Italy.
About this remarkable vacation, Italy, about cities which I have visited: Rome, Venice, Florence, Pisa, Verona,
about Vatican, sightseeings, a history, about cheerful Italians, pizza, pasta, about cheap airline RyanAir will be my story.
Italy
- really beautiful country for the traveller. Such huge number of
various architectural and
art monuments you can not see in any other country. In Italy it is
concentrated about 60% of cultural monuments of Europe
(at least electronic guidebooks told this). In fact each Italian city
represents the real historical museum on open-air.
Except for uncountable monuments of culture and ruins of old time, the
country has a lot of wonderful places -
snow-white slopes of the Alpine mountains, fine beaches of the Adriatic
and Mediterranean coasts and charming lakes of the north.

Day, about which bolsheviks and mensheviks spoke so long, has come.
Conference & holiday trip to England (long preparations were preceded) began.
Began with as it frequently happens in such cases, waking up very early...
The Boeing of KLM takes off by the schedule at 9.40 (by CET), and arrives to London
at... 9.40 (by GMT) - due to a difference in time. But actually just flight
is around 30 minutes, plus 10 - on rising and landing.
Distance between Amsterdam and London (on a straight line) about 350 kms mainly occupied
by North sea (very quiet on that day) which we saw during the flight.
At landing approach contours of London were visible only, but at once it became clear,
that city is of really enormous sizes. We arrive to Stansted -
one of 4 London airports (Heathrow, Gatwick, Luton, Stansted).
Stansted situates on the distance from London around 20 miles.
Certainly! It is necessary to mention it now, in order to prevent misunderstandings.
Miles, yards, inches, ft, pounds and pounds of sterling have substituted all rest values
that were remained on other side of 'English channel'.
In the beginning left-hand movement simply 'drives me crazy'.
First you laugh 'these old strangers, Englishmen!'. But after you start to be angry,
therefore it's a quite dangerous adventure - trying to survive when you are crossing such road.
You really have to adapted to these rules of crossing the streets and correct turns of the head
(all over again - to the right, then - to the left). When being so nearly under wheels
of the car you are afraid already seriously about own life and in soul you want to remove all
English roads somewhere far away. But, as the practice shows, the Europeans who
have survived in the first days reject these ideas aside and pass in British clan of
twirling by heads in other side, and after returning to home town start to say 'why
everything is wrong on our roads?'. Englishmen claimed that the wrong sides
for movement in the rest part of the world. Left-side movement is distributed
to all other kinds of the British transport - trains, tube [metro], escalators, boats
(how it is distributed to elevetors I don't know).
But shall we return from puzzles of the history to a reality?
From Stansted me and Aad were going by train (35 minutes) to Cambridge. The first looks of England
- green hills, meadows, rare small villages. The landscape and nature are a little
similar to Western Europe, but more 'alive' and hilly.
