The Influence of Water Depth on the Hydroelastic Response of a Very Large Floating Platform
(work title: A Very Large Floating Platform on Water of Infinite, Finite or Shallow Depth)
Alex I. Andrianov and Aad J. Hermans
Diffraction
of incoming surface waves by very large floating platform (VLFP) is investigated
in the paper for three cases: infinite, finite and shallow water. An analytical
study for the deflection of the platform, reflection and transmission of
incoming waves is presented. For each case the problem is solved for two
forms of the platform: strip of the infinite length and half-plane plate.
The platform is idealized as a plate with elastic properties of zero thickness.
Integro-differential, boundary and transition equations and Green's function
are used for the solution. Numerical results are obtained for various values
of general parameters. Deflection of the strip and of the semi-infinite platform
are compared for different values of depth.

Hydroelasticity of a Circular
Plate on Water of Finite or Infinite Depth
Alexey I. Andrianov and Aad J. Hermans
Abstract.
This paper considers the problem of diffraction of incident surface waves on a floating elastic circular plate.
We investigate hydroelastic response of the plate to a plane incident wave for two cases of water depth.
In the second section we formulate the problem.
In the third section the case of infinite depth is considered and we derive a main integro-differential equation.
The free surface elevation and Green's function are expressed in cylindrical coordinates as a superposition of Bessel
functions. For the coefficients a set of algebraic equations is obtained, yielding the approximate solution.
Then in the fourth section a solution is obtained for the general case of finite water depth analogously. The exact
solution is approximated by taking a finite number of roots of the dispersion relation into account.
Numerical results are presented for various physical parameters of the problem in fifth section. Some
remarks on numerical computation and a discussion of results are also given.
Keywords: hydroelasticity, circular plate, incident waves, deep water, water of finite depth,
diffraction, deflection, Green's function, Bessel functions.

The Investigation of a Strip with Interface Cracks along the Fixed Edges under Bending Load
(Timoshenko-Reissner method)
A.I.Andrianov, V.V.Loboda
Stress-strain of a strip with an interface cracks along the fixed edges under
bending load is considered. To avoid the oscillating singularities the short
intermediate zones at the crack tips are introduced. The quasi-invariance
of the energy release rate with respect to the intermediate zone length is
found out. (on Russian)

The Investigation of a Strip with Interface Cracks Along the Fixed Edges under Bending Load
Alex I.Andrianov, Vladimir V.Loboda
The contact zones model is derived from the exact solution of the bending problem for an interface cracks
with contact zones of arbitrary length. Stress-strain state of a strip with an interface cracks along the fixed edges
under bending load is considered. To avoid the oscillating singularities the short intermediate zones at the crack tips
are introduced. The approximate relations for the intermediate zone length determination in terms of the stress intensity
factors (SIFs) are found and the example of these relations utilization is presented. Quasi-invariance of the energy
release rate (ERR) with respect to the intermediate zone length is proved and a simple way of the ERR numerical
determination is suggested.
